Located on the Candolim/Sinquerim stretch, 10 Downing Street
is a seasonal pub with a small dance floor — a favourite
with tourists of all age groups. There are no cover charges
and drinks are available from its well-stocked bar that is
laden with fine wines as well. The nightclub opens in the
evening and serves multicuisine food.

CAFE MAMBO'S

If you are really looking for a wild night out. Café Mambo's
at Baga is the place to go to. It's one of the most
happening places in Goa where people from all walks of life
meet up and have a whale of a good time. You would enjoy the
chilled-out open-air ambience while you pick from the
multicuisine menu and listen to some hip-hop, house and
retro music. Rub shoulders with the Page 3 crowd at this pub
which remains open until the wee hours. Cover charges
sometimes range from Rs200 to 800.

CLUB BLUE

Club Blue in Calangute is part of La Calypso Hotel in Baga,
a nightspot that's open round the year. Dark interiors with
tiny blue lights, and psychedelic lights when the music
plays — that's what gives this place its special feel.
Expect DJ music of all genres most of the time, and some new
bands on stage once in a while, while you choose from the
exotic cocktails, Scotch and other imported liquors and fine
wines. This place draws locals as well as tourists. Cover
charge depends on the season and shows.

CLUBCUBANA

Club Cubana is arguably one of the most popular party spots
in Goa and attracts a heady mix of Page 3 people, splurging
tourists as well as locals. Located atop Arpora Hill, Club
Cubana has DJs coming from across the world to liven up its
nights. The club, surrounded by palm trees, overlooks the
sea and the sparkling lights of the village look like
embellishments on a royal carpet laid out against the dark
backdrop below. You would need to drive up from the foot of
the hill to reach the club and the club provides jeeps too.
Cover charges, ranging from Rs600 to 1000, include major
Indian liquors and there is a separate payment counter as
well for high-end Indian and foreign liquors. Women are
allowed free entry on Ladies' Nights hosted every Wednesday.
(At the time of this book going into print, the club was
temporarily closed. We are not sure if it would reopen in
the same premises or elsewhere.

CLUB TITO'S

Club Tito's at Baga is known across thr country ever since
it underwent a makeover during the post-hippi era - a celeb
joint where people would shell out just about any amount to
be around on New Year's Eve. Being a haven for party animals
is sometimes a bane here with crowds getting rough at times
at this all-night disc which is more of a haunt for young
people throughout the year and foreigners during season.
Famous DJ's keep the nights rocking while a choice of dishes
from a multicuisine menu is on offer to go with the drinks.
Cover charges range from Rs600 to 1000 against which the
drinks are free.

CLUB CAVALA

Round the year
Where do you go for a good time in Baga if you are on the
right side of 30? The answer is the Cavala lounge. Great
place to meet interesting locals, relish delicious Goan
food, drink beer and participate in an all night session
with a rocking Goan band or sit and hum to the sound of
jazz. Taste their excellent Lamb Croquettes, which are
lightly spiced mince of lamb rolled in breadcrumbs and
served with a tangy sauce Americaine, the Seafood Bisque, a
delicately blended soup offish and prawns with a dash of
brandy and cream -served with croutons and Cavala Shrimp
Cocktail, tender whole shrimp in an house-special Cocktail
sauce, on a bed of fine chopped lettuce, and served with
herb butter toast. Cover charges are Rs500 upwards.

A good hangout for young people, Club West End plays good DJ
music and you could jive to the tunes on a fairly large
dance floor. The right place if you fancy retro, hip-hop and
trance. Located atop a hill in Sangolda Village, Saligao,
the club has a well-stocked bar with a variety of IMFLs. A
chillout joint where you would need to pay cover charges
ranging from Rs300 to 600 to dance until the wee hours.

Seasonal. Congo at Casa Baga is one of classiest nightspots
in Goa run by fashion designer Malini Ramani. A seasonal
nightspot where you would get to sip Mojitos, Tangerine
Margarita, Cosmopolitans and Daiquiris. It draws as many
tourists as the Page 3 crowd. There are no cover charges,
but house rules apply during peak season.

A perennial party place with a dance floor right on the
beach and a giant screen to watch soccer - Fahrenheit is
definitely the place for sports buffs and party animals
alike. Expect a mix of foreigners and locals who jive to DJ
music. Pick from a multicuisine menu and choose from the
well-stocked bar at this joint, where there are no cover
charges except during the who plays all kinds of lounge
music upto 7pm, and hiphop, house and Bollywood numbers
later in the evening. Try the Long Island Ice Tea, the
Margarita, the Daiquiris, or Whiskey Sour while you pick
your choice from the multicuisine menu. No cover charges

The disco below the lobby at The Leela is huge with three
semi-private lounges, state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment
and a cigar divan too. Watch your favourite sports event
over a drink or let your hair down at the dance floor with

and techno later in the evening. Try the exotic sounding
cocktails here — Jungle Juice, Shark Bite, Third Degree and
Silk Panties, to name, only a few.

This spacious disco at the Clarion is done up in black and
yellow — unique decor with life-size pictures of Bollywood
and Hollywood celebrities looking prominent on the black
walls, and pillars glowing with yellow lights. It's a very
special ambience, although the current makeover plans have
made the services a little haphazard. The disco, where you
could get to hear live music on specific days, is open to
outsiders as well as in-house guests — take your pick from
snacks and salads and your choice of cocktails.

A haunt for locals, regulars and tourists who know it. Club
Eutopia, which is part of Woodbourne Country Club at Nuvem,

This discotheque has a multicuisine restaurant attached to
it, and an airconditioned dance floor. You could get to hear
both Indian and Western music while you choose from their

This place, inside Radisson, is not just for partying but
for other kinds of entertainment as well — a discotheque
with a bowling alley, a pool table, video games and a mini
theatre are also attached to it. Listen to DJ music and
watch the Russian dancers while you are at Gravity Pool,
sipping cocktails like Sea Breeze, Green Elephant Walking
and Magic Muslin. The place is open to in-house guests as
well as outsiders, and cover charges are pegged at Rs300 per
couple for outsiders. Stags are not allowed.

Vanilla Lounge in Candolim is HHaiMilM another new entrant
on the nightclub scene that has made it big in no time,
making a mark with the Page 3 crowds pouring in. It is bang
on the Candolim beach — a simple shack with old-world
furniture and a large bar counter at one end. You would get
to hear all kinds of music at this resto-bar, where
Saturdays are retro nights, Wednesdays are for live rock,
Fridays are for hip-hop and Sundays are for karaoke. Sign up
for belly-dance and pole-dance classes during season, or for
some yoga on the beach. Sip Margaritas, Va Va Vanilla and
home-made Baileys and choose from their vast multicuisine
menu. Cover charges are pegged at Rs200 per couple on
Saturdays.
